Developmental Disabilities Planning Council
For the creation and execution of demonstration projects in New York State, the DDPC offers financing (grants). The Council created several initiatives to respond to the demands of those with intellectual and developmental impairments. Social Security
Social Security compensates benefits for disabled persons in either of the two programs: SSDI, which stands for Social Security Disability Insurance, or SSI, which stands for Supplemental Security Income. Department of Veterans’ Services (DVS)
Veterans who want to get disability benefits from the VA are represented by DVS. We assist both veterans with post-service and non-service-connected disabilities as well as those whose illnesses or injuries developed or worsened while they were in the military.

New York State Office for the Aging’s (NYSOFA)
Through NYSOFA home and community-based programs, which are meant to complement and reinforce informal care, older people have access to a well-planned, coordinated package of in-home and other supporting services. The overarching objective of NYSOFA is to increase older people’s access to and availability of appropriate and affordable non-medical care services in order to increase their capacity to age in place and prevent the need for higher levels of care and publicly funded care. Helping Hands for the Disabled in New York
Display set, the group offered disabled persons recreational activities. Helping Hands also offers assistance with duties including opening mail, doing paperwork, running errands, and keeping appointments for medical care.
